'Smart' Prizes

Guelph Environmental Leadership executive director Glynis Logue shows off a couple of the 26 environmentally friendly prizes in the second annual Smart Changes Environmental Lottery launched by her group Wednesday - which was Clean Air Day - in front of city hall. The grand prize in the Oct. 27 draw is this Mercedes Smart Car. The group has printed 5,000 tickets which it is selling for $20 each or six for $100. Mayor Kate Quarrie bought the first ticket on Wednesday. Proceeds go to local environmental projects, Logue said. Last year's draw raised $10,000, and the group will soon announce how it will be spent, she said.
